Start with understanding
What is
Emotion Code?
Emotion Code is an energy-healing practice developed by Dr. Bradley Nelson. It is based on the idea of “trapped emotions”—a term the approach uses for emotional energy associated with past experiences.
In a session, Molly uses the Emotion Code method to explore these themes with you. You don’t need experience with energy work to ask questions or learn about the process.

What is The Emotion Code?
The Emotion Code is a powerful yet simple method for identifying and releasing what the approach calls “trapped emotions”—emotional baggage associated with past experiences. The focus is on exploring emotional patterns and creating space for balance, clarity, and well-being.
What are the benefits of releasing trapped emotions?
People explore this work with goals such as:
- Feeling lighter and more energized
- Responding differently to stress and emotional triggers
- Greater mental clarity and confidence in decision-making
- Greater emotional resilience and well-being
These are personal well-being goals, not a promise of a particular outcome.
Can trapped emotions cause physical symptoms?
Physical symptoms can have many causes. An Emotion Code session cannot establish that “trapped emotions” are causing neck pain, headaches, fatigue, digestive issues, or other symptoms, and relief is not promised. Please consult a licensed healthcare professional about physical symptoms or concerns.
What is muscle testing?
Muscle testing, also known as applied kinesiology, is a non-invasive technique used within the Emotion Code approach to explore what the method describes as subconscious responses. It involves observing changes in muscle strength when responding to yes-or-no questions.
Can muscle testing be done remotely?
Yes, muscle testing can be performed remotely by acting as a proxy for the client. With your consent, Molly uses self-testing techniques on your behalf. This is part of the method’s practice, not a guarantee of accurate medical findings.
Why is remote energy healing effective?
Within the Emotion Code approach, remote energy work is based on the belief that physical presence is not required. With your consent, I act as a proxy to muscle test on your behalf. This describes the approach; it does not establish that remote work produces the same results as an in-person session.
What is the processing period?
The “processing period” is the time after a session when you can pause, rest, and reflect on your experience. Some clients describe emotional sensitivity, mood shifts, temporary fatigue, or vivid dreams; others notice no change.
There is no established medical processing timeline. New, persistent, or concerning symptoms should not automatically be attributed to energy release—check with a healthcare professional.
How many sessions do I need?
The number of sessions varies by person. Molly can discuss your goals and whether a follow-up feels appropriate. There isn’t one required number of sessions or a promised timeline for a change, including work the Emotion Code method refers to as a “Heart Wall.”
How does The Emotion Code work?
Using muscle testing, we explore emotional themes within the Emotion Code framework. The method then uses a gentle swipe of a magnet or hand over the “governing meridian,” described in the approach as running from the forehead to the tailbone. This is the energy-release process used in the practice, rather than a medical treatment.
What are trapped emotions, and how do they affect me?
“Trapped emotions” is the Emotion Code term for unresolved emotional energy associated with past experiences, trauma, or stress. People often bring themes such as:
- Feeling overwhelmed or stuck
- Relationship struggles, such as difficulty connecting or fear of vulnerability
- Self-sabotage, including negative self-talk, limiting beliefs, and avoidance patterns
The framework offers a way to explore those themes; it does not establish the cause of physical symptoms or a mental-health condition.
How does muscle testing work?
By applying light pressure to a muscle or using self-testing techniques, a practitioner observes differences in muscle response. Within the Emotion Code method, these responses are interpreted as answers to questions about emotional themes. They should not be treated as a verified reading of the subconscious or used to diagnose a health condition.
How do sessions work?
Sessions are conducted either live via Zoom or remotely by email.
Live Zoom Sessions — Interactive and real-time, where we explore emotional themes together using the Emotion Code approach. The booking link on this page is for a 45-minute Zoom session.
Email Sessions — Your session is completed remotely, and you receive a detailed report of the session. Ask Molly about this option before booking.
How long should I wait between sessions?
A one-week gap is a starting point for scheduling, giving you time to reflect on your experience between sessions. We can discuss a pace that works for you.
Will I feel anything during an Emotion Code session?
Some clients report sensations such as yawning, chills, or an emotional wave, while others describe subtle shifts or a sense of relaxation. Others do not notice a change. There’s no particular feeling you need to have.
What if I don’t feel a difference right away?
Some people describe changes right away, while others notice subtle differences over days or weeks—or no difference at all. Give yourself time to reflect, knowing there’s no specific feeling you need to have.
Is The Emotion Code a replacement for medical or psychiatric care?
No. The Emotion Code is a holistic energy healing modality and is not intended to replace medical, psychiatric, or psychological care. It does not diagnose, treat, or cure any medical conditions, nor does it replace professional medical or mental health advice. Please refer to our disclosure & liability statement.
